Back at it today with some detailed welding on Rubie. I focused on patching up the holes and other problem areas that I identified previously. The center section was my main focus today; after welding it securely, I applied anti-rust paint roughly using a spray can, as it’s just a temporary protection to prevent further corrosion until the final paint job.
The sheet metal for the patches, which was kindly provided, has been extremely useful. I’ve still got a few more sections to handle. Once all the welding is complete, I’ll use an angle grinder to smooth out the areas before the final steps of sanding and painting the tray.
